By accessing or using CaseBriefer ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service.
CaseBriefer is an AI-powered tool that helps law students generate case notes, reading summaries, and problem question analyses. The Service is intended as a study aid and does not constitute legal advice.
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with your educational institution's academic integrity policies. You must not use AI-generated content as your own original work where prohibited by your institution.
Paid plans (Lawyer and Judge) are billed monthly or annually in Australian dollars (AUD) via Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Settings page or the Stripe billing portal. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access to paid features until then.
Free trial: New subscribers may be offered a 5-day free trial. You will be asked for payment details when starting the trial, and unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan and your payment method will be charged the applicable fee. Free trials are limited to one per person; we may decline a trial where we reasonably believe it has already been used.
Refunds and your consumer rights: Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights. Outside of those non-excludable guarantees, refunds for partial billing periods are handled on a case-by-case basis at our discretion.
You retain ownership of any documents you upload to the Service. AI-generated outputs are provided for your personal educational use. The CaseBriefer brand, logo, and platform design are owned by CaseBriefer.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all generated case notes and summaries before relying on them.
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, CaseBriefer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including but not limited to academic outcomes.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page, which will permanently remove all your data.
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Australia.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
For questions about these terms, please contact us at contact@casebriefer.com.
